Speak with Vili
To begin the quest, talk to Vili. His exact location is shown below, marked by the quest symbol.
He’s somewhere at the top of the wall. Talk to him.
Find the entrance to Peak Cavern
Peak Cavern’s location is shown in the map below, marked by the quest symbol.
It’s east of Hemthorpe.
Just follow the road and you’ll reach the cave’s entrance in front of a pond.
Search for the exile
Head all the way into the cave and you’ll see the exile.
Cairn challenge
He will then ask you to do a cairn challenge. This one’s really easy.
Etching shield choice
When asked which rune to use when etching the shield, you’re given a choice to choose any of the following relating to Hemming Jarl:
- By his strength
- With his wisdom
- His determination
Any of the picks will do. They’re just for visual purposes.
