The Creaky Waterwheel is a quest available in your village in NieR Replicant version 1.22.
Your objective is to help a woman repair the village waterwheel by providing parts to repair it.
You will need ten logs and ten iron ores for this quest.

Talk to the Strange-Thing shopkeeper
Head to Facade to find the Strange-Thing shopkeeper as the person can help with the repairs.
Talk to the person and you’ll be required to get 10 iron ores and 10 logs.
How to get iron ores and logs
Logs should be quite straightforward. You can buy them from the material shop in your village. It costs 500 gold each.
Iron ores can either be farmed by picking them up, or you can buy them directly from the Two Brothers Weaponry in the Junk Heap.
It costs 1,000 gold each.
However, the shop will only be open after a certain part of the story.
Return to the shopkeeper
After gathering the materials, get back to the shopkeeper in Facade and the person will deliver the goods directly to your village.
Collect your reward
Head back to your village and speak to the quest giver. You’ll earn 10,000 gold.
