The Pickup is a main mission / job in Cyberpunk 2077.
Your objective is to get a specific bot from the Maelstroms who stole it.
Here’s a walkthrough of The Pickup in Cyberpunk 2077.
Danger: Moderate.
Meet with Jackie
To begin, meet with Jackie at the location provided in the map.
You’ll see him on his motorbike. Don’t talk to him yet.
You can either talk to Jackie or meet Militech agent Meredith Stout which is optional.
Talk to Meredith Stout (optional)
I chose the optional objective, which is to meet the agent.
Make a call.
You’ll then find her nearby as shown on the map.
Head to the bottom to meet her.
After confronting her, the guard will pin you down.
He will use a lie detector sort of thing. If you wish to tell the truth, choose “all by my lonesome”.
Tell her you don’t know the guy. If you’re a nomad, you can also choose the last option.
Make a deal with her on the bot.
Take credchip or not
If you take her credchip, you can later use it with the Maelstrom. The credchip contains a virus that will fry some of the Maelstrom men.
Go to the All Foods building
Head to the Maelstrom base also known as the All Foods building. Use the intercom to talk to the person inside.
Just tell him that “Dex sent us”.
Get to the main production floor
Follow Jackie in. He’ll lead you to the main production floor.
Next, enter the elevator as instructed by the gang member.
Talk to the Maelstromers
You will then meet Dum Dum, someone who pretends to be the boss here. Tell him you’re here for the Flathead bot.
Ask Jackie to sit down.
Dum Dum will offer an inhaler. You can choose to pass and he won’t get mad.
Royce will then appear and points a gun at V.
Even if you choose “really expect me to pay twice?“, it won’t matter.
Towards the end, you can choose to ask for a discount, show Militech shard if you did the optional objective, or give 10k credits.
I chose the Militech creds option but there’ll still be a further option to either draw weapon or take down Royce.
If you don’t have the sufficient perk, then you can only draw your weapon.
V will point a gun at Royce’s skull. Finally, you can choose to either pay with Militech chip, shoot Royce or pay 10k creds.
I chose the Militech chip and it will burn some of the Maelstromers but they’ll all attack you. You will also need to kill Royce later.
Perhaps shooting Royce might stop a boss fight later but I’m not sure.
Defeat the Maelstromers
Take out the Maelstromers in the room.
Take the Flathead
Get the bot from the table.
Pass through the maintenance tunnel
Follow Jackie as he leads you through the maintenance tunnel.
Towards the end, turn on the production line to clear passage.
(Optional) Free Brick
You will then get an optional objective to free Brick. His location is shown in the map below.
It’s recommended to free him because it will make a future side job (Second Conflict) easy.
You will see him taken hostage inside a room.
To open the room, just use the remote deactivation quick hack.
Inside, you can disarm the laser as well.
Brick will then thank you and promise to help in the future if he meets you again.
Escape from All Foods
Continue to make your way out of All Foods.
One way to do this is stealth, but it can be hard to avoid detection. There are plenty of cameras in the building.
After going past most of the areas, you’ll reach Royce. I chose to use the Militech creds and he escaped earlier. Now he shows up again.
Defeat Royce (or sneak past)
You are given an option to sneak past him. I haven’t tried this but perhaps you can hack some of the surrounding devices to distract him.
If you choose to fight, you can just choose the “short circuit” option on Royce. He will lose a lot of HP.
Defeat him and his crew.
After killing him, you’ll be able to loot some stuff.
Leave the premises
Leave the All Foods building.
Talk to Meredith
You will see Meredith outside. She’ll offer you future jobs. You can choose “yeah, maybe”.
Talk to Dexter
Finally, call Dexter to tell him the job is done.
The mission ends here.
