Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Chipping Away Walkthrough

November 17, 2020 by Ordinary Gaming

Chipping Away is a quest in Oxenefordscire in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Your task is to weaken Eadwyn’s defenses by destroying their supplies and protecting the fyrd.

Here’s a walkthrough of Chipping Away in AC Valhalla.

Suggested power: 90

There are three main objectives, i.e. help the fyrd, destroy the supplies and kill the flagbearer.

Unfortunately, this quest is bugged for some players including myself, meaning the location may not be revealed at first.

Help the fyrd

There are two locations for helping the fyrd. One of them is shown in the map below, marked by the quest symbol. It’s one of the ruins.

As you reach the area, defeat all of Eadwyn’s men.

In the same place, you can also get the treasure chest from the bottom of the tower.

Climb up on the tower first and get to the upper floor. Look for the weak wooden planks. Destroy the planks and jump down.

You’ll get a chest inside.

There’s also another chest if you jump down into the well near the tower.

The second fyrd location is as shown below. It’s south of Linford.

Once again, kill all of the enemies attacking the fyrd.

Kill the flagbearer

The next objective is to kill the flagbearer. He is located inside Saint Albanes.

Enter the monastery which is the big building inside the area.

As the door is barred, you can unbar it by going to the side window. Shoot at the lock through the small window.

Enter the monastery and kill the flagbearer who is the tall guy.

Destroy the supplies

For this objective, there are two main areas.

One of them is actually Cyne Belle Castle and the location is shown below, marked by the map marker.

It’s a huge enemy base so you may want to sneak in.

There are three of the carts that you have to destroy. You can either throw a torch or shoot an arrow at the oil jar inside the cart.

Destroy three of these carts in Cyne Belle and leave the area.

The second location for carts is actually the same location as another quest. The exact location is shown in the map below, marked by the quest marker.

Get to the location and you’ll find yourself in Eatun Barn. There are three of these carts.

The quest ends after the bar is filled.
