Starfield: Operation Starseed Walkthrough & Guide

Operation Starseed is a side mission available in Charybdis III in Starfield.

Your objective is to answer to the distress call, investigate the Facility and decide on whether to continue the Mission.

Here’s a walkthrough and guide of Operation Starseed in Starfield.

To begin the mission, answer the distress call from Crucible in Charybdis III.

Go to Charybdis III and land at the Crucible location.

Talk with Tobias

Enter Crucible and you’ll meet a robot Tobias. Talk to it.

Tobias will ask for 150 copper but I ignored that request (not sure what it leads to).

Talk to Ada

Then, talk to Ada as she welcomes you to Crucible.

Talk to Franklin

Next, talk to Franklin in the building.

You’ll realize that it’s Franklin Roosevelt’s clone.

Then, talk to Wyatt Earp as you leave the building.

Talk to Amanirenas and Genghis Khan

The next objective is to speak to Amanirenas and Genghis Khan as they both have opposing views.

You’ll need to find Genghis Khan just outside the walls of Crucible.

When you arrive, some creatures will attack. Defeat them first.

Genghis will one of those that oppose the “Mission” and wishes to leave Crucible.

Return to Franklin

After speaking to Genghis Khan, return to Franklin. He’ll ask for your opinion.

After you’re done with Franklin, Wyatt will want to talk to you. It’s a separate mission titled Secret Lives.

Go to the Facility

When you’re ready to leave, head to the Facility which is on the other side of the planet.

Find clues about the Facility

You’ll see some maggot creatures on the way to the Facility.

Enter the Facility and you’ll be greeted with more maggot creatures. Secure the area.

You’ll need to find seven clues about the Facility. The first one is Diary Page – Discovering Galathea.

Next is Diary Page – Escape.

The third is Diary Page – Reborn.

Fourth is Diary Page – Genghis Explosion.

Continue ahead and take out the enemies.

You’ll reach the fifth clue Anonymous Last Words.

The sixth one is Diary Page – Ada’s Questions.

Keep going and you’ll meet a tougher maggot. Watch out for this one as it’s level 85.

Get the final clue Ada’s Diary – Heart of the Facility.

Choose which society to give Facility information

After getting all the clues, return to Crucible.

You have to decide between Franklin, Amanirenas and Genghis Khan.

I chose to give the information to Amanirenas as she’s probably a less chosen option.

Talk to Ada Lovelace

Next, speak to Ada Lovelace.

She’ll give you a clue on the next destination.

Investigate Bel V

Go to Bel V which is in the Bel system.

When you arrive, go to the Navigation Beacon and scan the secure frequency to get the next location.

Go to Zelazny I

Now, head over to Zelazny I. This one requires more than 24 LY from the nearest planet.

This means if your ship doesn’t qualify, you will need to modify it at a shipbuilding service. You’ll need to change the grav drive to one that has more LY range than the distance shown for you.

When you’ve equipped your ship with a good enough grav drive, head to Zelazny I. Go to The Beagle.

Find the Facility’s Security Override Code

Board The Beagle. You’ll come across a number of hostile turrets and Robot Models.

Go all the way until you find the Security Override Code.

Access the computer and download the code. You can also read the other entries.

Exit The Beagle

After getting the code, exit The Beagle through the same way.

However, more Robots Models will appear along the way.

See Amanirenas about an emergency

When you arrive back at Crucible, you’ll need to talk to Amanirenas about an emergency (or whoever you chose).

Attend meeting with Crucible leaders

As I sided with Amanirenas, I have to confront Genghis Khan.

I tried different dialogues including letting Renegades go free, but Amanirenas doesn’t allow it.

Franklin will say that the Pragmatist won’t take part in the fight.

In the end, you may have to kill Genghis.

Kill Genghis

You just need to eliminate Genghis, not all the Renegades.

You can then loot his body for the Genghis Khan outfit and hat.

Talk to Amanirenas

After you’re done with Genghis, talk to Amanirenas again.

Speak to Ada

Then, talk to Ada about the Security Override Code and she’ll help to decrypt it.

Deal with the Facility

Return to the Facility. Use the computer to open the door.

This time, you’ll meet some Robots and turrets.

At some point, you’ll also meet clones. Take them down.

Continue ahead through the water.

You’ll reach a bigger part of the Facility with more clones and enemies in general.

Continue to fight your way through.

The clone leader is also here. He’s level 76.

After securing the area, go to the control room. You’ll see the computer that you need to access to deal with the Facility.

You now have a few options:

Reboot and restore current Mission parameters

Reboot and choose a new Super-Admin

Initiate Full Project Cleanse

The first option most likely just turn things to normal (what the Mission is supposed to do). Second is to choose either Franklin or Amanirenas as the Super-Admin (or Genghis in your playthrough).

The last option is to wipe out all traces about the project of clones.
