Fiber is one of the common resources that you’ll need in Starfield.
It may be required in certain missions like First Contact or just for building stuff in general.

Where to find fiber
The easiest way to find fiber is to simply buy them through vendors in certain places of the galaxy.
It’s pretty cheap in general. Even at level 1 or 2 Commerce, fiber only costs 3 credits each.
You can find fiber at UC Distribution Center or at other similar vendors around the galaxy.
Another way to get fiber is to harvest them yourself.
You’ll generally find fiber by harvesting plants like Glossy Stickweed or Boreas Root. They’re available in the forest-type terrains.
There should be some of these plants in Jemison itself if you land your ship in the forest area (outside of New Atlantis).
