Starfield: Entangled Mission Walkthrough & Guide

Entangled is a Constellation main story mission in Starfield.

Your objective is to retrieve an artifact but you first need to shut down the probe. It’s quite of a mess as you travel between different universes.

Here’s a walkthrough and guide of Entangled in Starfield.

To begin the mission, investigate the distress signal at Nishina Research Station.

Talk to Ethan who is the guard.

Follow Ethan

Next, follow Ethan inside.

While walking, you’ll be transported into some other dimension.

Take down the aliens.

You’ll then be brought back to this dimension.

Talk to Rafael

You’ll be transported back there. Talk to Rafael who is supposedly the only one alive. In his reality, things ended up differently.

In Ethan’s reality, Rafael was the only one who died.

Follow Ethan

Now that you’re back, follow Ethan again.

Find the director’s office

You have to find the director’s office but you get transported again. Take down the Cataxi.

Back to this reality, follow Ethan.

You’ll eventually meet the director here and you have to explain what’s going on.

Follow Maria

Then, follow her assistant Maria.

Get to the lab

You’re back in Rafael’s reality. Get to the lab and get rid of the aliens.

You’ll meet Rafael again. The aim is to get to the lab to shut down the probe on the artifact.

You’ll be transported yet again.

Again, take down the aliens and go to the lab.

Speak to Ethan

Then, you’ll end up in Ethan’s guard room. Talk to him.

You can also persuade him to give you a weapon. He’ll give you a rare shotgun.

Get to the lab

Continue to the lab on the other reality.

You’ll be back with Maria. Talk to her.

Watch the distortion and stand near it.

Find a probe control unit

In the other reality, take the probe control unit.

Recalibrate the distortion

Go to the distortion and calibrate it to return to Maria.

Speak to Director Patel

Then, head to the director’s office and talk to Director Kaia Patel again.

She’ll ask which universe you are going to choose.

The decision is to be made later, not here. The end of the mission is where you need to decide.

You can choose Director Patel’s universe or Rafael’s universe or even save both.

(Optional) Get supplies

You can then talk to Dr. Tatiana to get some med packs and stuff.

Take the elevator

To proceed ahead, take the elevator.

Calibrate the distortion in front of the elevator and then use it in Rafael’s universe.

Continue ahead until you can’t go anymore. Calibrate the distortion.

Override the lockdown in the Facilities section

There will be a few sections where you have to override the lockdown.

The first one is the Facilities section.

Take the Nishina Particle Lab Keycard.

Go to the distortion and calibrate.

In the other reality, you can unlock the door with the keycard.

The Secure Access door is blocked. Use the distortion again.

In the next area, the computer isn’t working. Use the distortion and use the computer in Patel’s reality.

Override the lockdown in the Accelerator section

Proceed ahead in Patel’s universe and there’ll be a lot of turrets and Robot Models to kill.

After securing the area, calibrate the distortion.

In the other area, kill the aliens as well.

Then, look for Nishina Utility Closet Keycard.

Go back to Patel’s reality to find a way in. Unlock the door with the new keycard and there’s a distortion inside.

Enter the room and look for the distortion to get back.

You’ll find yourself in the control room. Use the computer to override the lockdown.

Override the lockdown in the Storage section

Follow the marker all the way towards the lab. You’ll reach a dead end.

Calibrate the distortion.

You’ll then see a path through the cavern. Take down the Cataxi along the way.

Look up and you’ll see a way to go up. There’s a distortion up there to calibrate.

In Patel’s reality, go through the door and you’ll face a lot of robots.

Look for the distortion and calibrate.

You’re back in a cave. Take down the Cataxi.

Keep going until you see the next distortion.

Back in Patel’s universe, use the computer to override the lockdown in the Storage section.

Get to the lab

Now that you’re done, follow the marker to the lab. There’ll be more turrets and robots.

Keep going and you’ll see a distortion. Use it again.

Disengage power interlocks or switch universes

This is where your choice matters. If you disengage the power interlocks and stop the probe in Rafael’s universe, it means you’ve chosen his universe.

If you wish to choose Patel’s universe, then you have to switch back and do whatever objective is on the other side.

However, some players have found that you can save both universes, by finding Rafael’s body in Patel’s universe first. You should then see a new objective.
