Grunt Work is a Vanguard mission available in Starfield.
Your objective is to meet the settlers at Tau Ceti II and eventually take down a Terrormorph.

Speak to Crew Chief Herath
Go to the New Atlantis Spaceport to meet Crew Chief Herath.
Head to Tau Ceti II
When you’re ready, depart to Tau Ceti II in the Tau Ceti system.
Land at the Tau Gourmet Production Center.
Meet the settlers
After landing, head towards the Production Center. On your way there, you’ll hear a scream. The settlers all seem to be dead.
Talk to Hadrian
Enter the building and you’ll meet Hadrian, the sole survivor here.
She’ll tell you that a Terrormorph is loose.
Restore the security system connection
Next, you’ll need to restore the security system connection in the nearby building.
Use the computer to do so.
Tune the livestock tracker to 183.5
Next, use the Tau Gourmet: Livestock computer.
Activate it and then tune the livestock tracker to 183.5.
The Terrormorph then appears in front of you. Just watch it as it kills another creature.
Kill the Terrormorph
The main objective now is to kill the Terrormorph. The optional objective is to restore power to the Kill Lanes and let the turrets help you.
You can see the distance of the Terrormorph from you if you wish to check where it is to escape. You can also use the Sense Star Stuff power (if you have it) to see where it is.
I chose to just fight the Terrormorph which is quite frightening if you don’t have strong weapons.
It’s capable of long range energy attacks as well. It might take quite awhile before you bring it down.
Collect the Terrormorph Tissue Sample
When it’s dead, collect the Terrormorph Tissue Sample from the body.
Return to Hadrian with the sample.
Follow Hadrian
Then, follow Hadrian as she analyzes the sample downstairs.
You’ll get the Terrormorph Cell Sample and 1000 credits. The sample is to be given to another person.
Talk to Tuala
Go back to Commander Tuala to complete the mission.
You’ll earn 9300 credits and some Vanguard items.
