Petting the dog is a feature many modern games seem to be incorporating, including Monster Hunter Rise.
In this game, your dog is known as a Palamute and you can ride a Palamute to battle.
Here’s how you can pet the dog (Palamute) in MH Rise.
How to pet the dog
To pet the dog (Palamute), you simply need to move the D-Pad on the Switch. Use either left or right until you find the “Wait” button at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Once you’ve found “Wait”, just press up or down to trigger the action.
Once your Palamute sits on position, you will see three more prompts, i.e. High Five, Pet or Play.
And that’s it, you can try out all three action prompts!
