Honor and Ash is a main story mission (Jin’s Journey) in Ghost of Tsushima.
Your task is to escape Castle Shimura and meet up with Yuna up north.

This quest will start automatically.
Escape from Castle Shimura
Your first task is to get out of Castle Shimura. There will be guards everywhere but they normally face one direction.
Head towards the roof of the first building.
After the first building you’ll have to jump down again.
You can crawl underneath the next building to avoid detection.
Keep avoiding them until you reach the crack on the wall.
Get to the horse
Here, you’ll need to reach your horse. They will discover that Jin has escaped and a patrol will head out.
Just wait for the guards to go away and then get to your horse.
The horse will get injured from arrows as Jin narrowly escapes from Castle Shimura.
Unfortunately, his horse will die.
Head to the sacred tree
Run towards the camp site to look for Yuna.
As you arrive you’ll notice that even the sacred tree is on fire.
The place is heavily guarded by Mongols and you need to sneak pass them, as you don’t have any weapon.
Head towards the sacred tree.
Investigate the area
Examine the dead body nearby and continue following the trail of bodies.
A cutscene will load where Jin gets shot by a poison arrow. Here, you simply need to walk towards the bridge and Jin will pass out.
Collect your gear
After the cutscene, you’ll discover that Yuna saved you. Collect your gear first.
Meet her at the lookout tower.
Survey the hideout
After talking to Yuna, climb up the tower and survey the area.
Ride out with Yuna
Head to the stables and pick a horse.
Follow Yuna.
Look for the frozen lake
You will reach a point where you need to get off the horse. Walk with Yuna towards the frozen lake.
Here, you’ll have to survey the frozen lake.
Defeat the Mongols
Take out all of the Mongols around the house first. You can assassinate them or directly go against them.
Once the area is secure, rescue the hostages inside the house.
Review the plan of attack
Next, survey the pagoda and think of a plan of attack.
Set off signal
Head towards the fireworks to set off the signal and draw the Mongols here.
Defeat the Mongols
Regroup with Yuna.
The Mongols will start coming towards the house.
Shoot the explosive barrels as they get near to kill most of them.
Kill off the remaining Mongols.
Head to the frozen waterfall
Next, go towards the pagoda. You will see a frozen waterfall near the entrance. Go towards the side to climb on the waterfall.
Continue following Yuna using the frozen waterfall.
Defeat the warlord and guards
You will see some people captured here, and surrounded by the warlord and guards.
As you’re undetected, you can strike the first blow.
Rescue the hostages once the guards are dead.
Speak with Yuna
Talk to Yuna to complete the quest.
