No Sudden Moves is a Constellation main story mission in Starfield.
Your objective is to obtain an artifact from Captain Petrov.
Here’s a walkthrough and guide of No Sudden Moves in Starfield.
Talk to Vladimir
To begin the mission, talk to Vladimir.
He’ll ask Sam Coe to follow you. You’re stuck with him until the end of this mission.
Go to The Scow
Next, head to The Scow which is a ship in the Procyon A system.
Board the Scow
Here, you’ll need to board the Scow. You also have optional objectives like disable the engines or talk your way in.
If you have a high persuasion skill level + aid, you can just persuade them to let you in.
You can also attack them but it may result in a hostile environment inside.
I chose persuasion and it worked to create a peaceful environment when boarding.
Find Captain Petrov
The main objective is to find Captain Petrov to ask him about the artifact.
In the meantime, this ship has plenty of stuff to steal with a lot more soldiers inside.
(Optional) Bribe the soldiers
When you enter a room with Captain Petrov in it, you should see a few named soldiers in front.
You can talk to them and bribe them to unlock different ways to steal the artifact. The first 1000 credits will give you a clue on thin walls and the next 1000 credits will give you a clue on releasing the zoo creatures.
In the third dialogue, you can also offer them 2500 credits to fight for you in case things get hostile. To be honest, you probably don’t need to bribe them to complete your objective.
Find Captain Petrov
You now have an option of talking to Captain Petrov to bring you to see the artifact, or a few other optional objectives.
If you do choose to talk to Petrov, you can persuade him to view the artifact. This is possible if your persuasion stat is high.
Another option is to attack him and the guards will retaliate. If you had paid some of them earlier, they’ll help you.
The other option is to ignore him and choose the other options (release alien / enter vault via thin walls / pickpocket his vault key).
Assuming you persuaded him, he’ll lead you into the vault itself.
Then, you’ll be given an option to steal the artifact in front of him, but he’ll fight back.
Even if you choose the first option, you’ll have to fight him.
What happens is that you’ll get a 500 credits bounty from the United Colonies. Defeat Petrov and you have further options.
If you ask him to tell his crew to stand down, you’ll be able to walk around easily but with the bounty still there.
If you attack him further, his crew will start to be hostile.
Either way, you have to leave the ship. The peaceful way might be easier.
Optional objectives to steal the artifact
There are a few options. One is to look for the vault via the thin walls.
You should find some cuttable walls. Use the Cutter to cut four bolts on the wall.
Do this on the next door as well.
You’ll then be able to enter the vault room and take the artifact. Make sure no one is seeing you.
Another option is to release the aliens from the zoo using the zoo control. It’ll likely lead to a fight.
The aliens shouldn’t bother you.
You can also try to pickpocket the vault key from Petrov and then access the vault.
When you steal the artifact, you should get the 500 credit bounty by United Colonies even if they didn’t spot you.
If you choose any of the peaceful options, you’ll be able to go around the ship easily to loot. If you go the hostile route, you can also kill them all and loot later.
Place the artifact
Make your way back to The Lodge to place the artifact. The mission ends here.
