Night City, California is a ruthless city in Cyberpunk 2077 and most areas are under gang control.
There are plenty of gangs in Night City, and most or all of them have been shown in the latest trailer.
This is a list of the gangs you will encounter in Night City in Cyberpunk 2077.
Maelstrom
Location: Watson.
Main sources of income: Illegal drug smuggling.
Maelstrom is a gang formed from the remnants of Metal Warriors, a gang that was almost annihilated by Inquisitors. They also recruited people from Ironsights and Red Chrome Legion.
In the present, the Maelstrom gang is located in the All Food Plant, with around 1,300 members. The leader is Royce. This gang is known for using heavy combat augmentation.
Valentinos
Location: Heywood.
Main sources of income: Theft, robbery, hit jobs, drug trafficking and gun smuggling. They use their businesses like restaurants, night clubs and auto shops as fronts.
Valentinos is known as a poser gang and mainly target attractive women in Night City. They’re mainly violent towards guys who are connected (e.g. spouse) to the attractive women.
Most of the gang members are Latinos.
6th Street
Location: Santo Domingo, Heywood.
Main sources of income: Robbery, gun smuggling, car theft and extortion.
6th Street is a gang founded by veterans of the 4th Corpo War and is meant to protect the community of Vista del Rey. They call themselves American patriots but have lost their purpose along the way.
6th Street is usually seen wearing military-influenced clothing with USA flags, stars and stripes.
Voodoo Boys
Location: Pacifica
Main sources of income: Hacking databanks and accounts.
The Voodoo Boys is a gang located in the Pacifica district and are known as the best netrunners (hackers). They’re also edgerunners who tend to break every rule possible and create viruses to freeze neural networks.
Voodoo Boys mainly appear to have members from a Haitian or Dominican descent.
Animals
Location: Mostly in Pacifica.
Main sources of income: Organizing underground fights, raiding other gangs, raiding drug stores and companies and selling drugs.
The Animals are easily spotted as they have ultra buff bodies. Due to their physical size, they mostly emphasize on physical strength above anything else. The members are enhanced by melee combat cyberware, testosterone supplements and a steroid known as “The Juice”.
They do not have a permanent turf but are mostly spotted around south Pacifica and are rivals with the Voodoo Boys.
Tyger Claws
Location: Westbrook.
Main sources of income: Own a ton of businesses including brothels, casinos, bars and restaurants. They make most of their money through human trafficking and prostitution.
The Tyger Claws started out as a gang in Japantown back in 2020 and mostly relied on martial arts. In 2077, they rely a lot on cyberware and has become one of the larger gangs in the city.
The members of Tyger Claws are mainly Asian.
The Moxes
Location: Around Watson.
Main source of income: Lizzie’s Bar.
The Mox is a new gang in Night City as they were established only in 2076. It was formed after the death of Lizzie, the owner of the bar who treated workers well. Lizzie was murdered after she attacked the Tyger Claws, the gang who killed one of her workers.
Moxes are relatively small and were formed to protect each other, rather than to raid other turfs.
Wraiths
Location: Badlands (outside Night City).
Main sources of income: Raiding transportation contracts in the big cities.
The Wraiths are a group of rogue Nomads in the Badlands area, and are constantly against the other group, the Aldecaldos.
Aldecaldos
Location: Badlands (outside Night City).
Main sources of income: Scavenging, manual farm laborers and transporting stolen goods.
The Aldecaldos are in constant war with the other gang The Wraiths. Aldecaldos, however, are more likely to deal with your character V. They were also the first Nomad family, formed all the way back in the 90s.
Scavengers
Location: All around Night City.
Main sources of income: Harvest and sell human organs.
The Scavengers are all around Night City and they also deal with black market cyberware. These cyberware are mostly ripped off from their victims. Scavs are also known for mutilating bodies and selling the organs.
They do not have a real philosophy as they only care about profit regardless of how they earn it.
In a nutshell
Cyberpunk 2077 is filled with a diverse pool of gangs and it will be exciting to see how this all pans out when the game released in November.
