Sons of the Forest is a survival horror game, which means you need to find food yourself.
Fish is one of the good sources of food and health in the game.
Here’s how you can catch fish and cook them in Sons of the Forest.
How to catch fish
In the game, you may first spawn near a river or a water source where fish can be found.
One of the spawn locations is on the mountain where there’s a small stream of water. Look inside and you may find fish swimming.
All you need to do is to equip your axe and butcher it.
Once you’ve killed the fish, you can pick it up.
How to cook fish
You will then need to cook the fish.
To do so, you just need to start a fire. You can get a stick or two sticks. Equip the stick and break it (you’ll see the split-sticks indicator).
Two sticks should have a bigger flame. Just break both sticks on the same spot and they’ll automatically be placed together.
Then, you’ll see the lighter indicator to start the fire.
Hold E at the fire to open your raw food inventory. You can then place the raw fish on the fire and wait for it to be cooked.
