The Attic is the seventh and final chapter of It Takes Two, which has proven to be a brilliant game.
This time, we will be going into May’s passion which is singing.
Here’s a walkthrough and guide of The Attic (final chapter) in It Takes Two.
The Attic (chapter 7) walkthrough
At the beginning of the game, you’ll definitely notice the minigame known as Slotcars.
The player which completes all three rounds first wins.
Setting the Stage
To begin, pull the lever down and unlock the first area.
Continue your way through the platforms.
You’ll see a VHS tape. Cody has to use the shield to destroy the straps while May has to knock it down with her scream.
At the next area, May has to sing to open the door for both Cody and herself.
You will then reach a place with discs that are too hot to stand on. Both May and Cody should cross together.
While crossing, May has to sing to push up the disc platforms so that you don’t get burned. Cross over before May loses her voice.
In the next part, Cody and May have to stand on the subwoofer while May screams at the mic. You will be pushed to the next platform.
Continue on and you’ll see another mic. Scream at the mic while standing on the subwoofer.
You will now reach a jukebox. Pick up the three coins and insert them into the hole under the heart and diamond symbols.
Make your way through the platforms.
Here, you’ll see another mic. If May screams at it, the door behind the glass will open.
Cody has to stand on it before May screams at the mic.
Cody now carries a transmitter while May has to utilize the mic.
Keep screaming at the mic while Cody finds his way out of the circuit board. The scream will destroy the components of the circuit.
Next, Cody has to place the transmitter near the small mic on the platform.
Cody has to push the volume button to the top as well. Before it goes back down, May has to scream to power up the whole thing.
You will gain speakers for the stage.
You will now reach the rehearsal section of the game. Here, Cody has to use the shield to block the laser and allow May to cross over.
Cody then has to stand on the platform with the ABCD directional arrows.
May has to scream at the mic according to where Cody needs to go.
Cody basically has to go to the left and around the obstacle. If you scream at “C”, you will go to the opposite direction which is “A”. Screaming at B will push you downwards in D’s direction and so on.
May has to choose the correct mics to scream at and look at Cody’s screen while doing so.
Cody then has to jump to the wires at the top and use the shield to cut them.
Now, head to the door with the green lights. Pull down the lever.
You will reach a room with a drum set. Jump to the upper hi-hat and May has to sing to bring the hi-hat up.
Continue the same strategy and head towards the keyboard.
Now, each person has to stand one of the two opened covers to close them. Cody then has to use the shield to start the button.
You will then be transported to more wires and slide down.
In the next area, May has to do the jumping while Cody controls the direction of the discs. Move the discs to allow May to get onto the red platforms.
Continue the strategy to get to the top.
May will then go through a sound visual thingy. Here, Cody has to adjust the frequency as well to allow May to get to the other side.
Once May is done, she has to move in a way that allows Cody to jump up the chimes.
You will then see a coil attached to a mic. May typically has to sing to reveal the coil while Cody destroys the coil with his shield.
In the next area, both Cody and May should stand on one platform. Cody has to use the shield to hit the button and move the platforms.
Head towards the coil. May then needs to sing and Cody has to destroy the coil.
For the next platform, May should start singing first before Cody hits the button. Once at the top, May’s singing will stop the snake and Cody has to destroy it with his shield.
In the next part, May can just sing to stop the mic snakes while you run past them.
Sing while riding on the rails as well to prevent the snakes from attacking.
You will meet yet another snake mic. Sing and destroy the coils.
Once you pull the lever, you have to be prepared to run away.
Here, you have to keep sliding down while the snake attacks the platform you’re on. Dodge them along the way.
At the end of the slide, you have to work together to close the gate. The snake’s head will pop off and you’ll get it as a mic for your stage.
You will then reach a cool sound mixer area. You can jump on the buttons to light them up.
Get all three music pipes to light up totally and the button can be pressed. Pressing the button will open the path for you and play the sound you made.
You will now reach an area where it’s really dark. May will control the green light.
Cody has to walk in the green light or he gets damaged.
At some areas, you have to move the light quickly to power the next platform. Cody will take damage in the meantime.
Once the next platform is up, Cody has to jump before the platform loses power again.
After some time, May has to control both red and green lights. There’ll be a part where you have to power up two platforms with two lights.
After you’re done with that, you will get back to the stage.
This time, you will see two minigames. One is chess which is the actual chess.
The other is musical chairs.
When you’re ready, continue forward to the next section titled Symphony.
Climb up the instruments and go above the piano. You’ll see a flute here. Cody has to stand on the last flute hole while May screams into it.
Cody then has to unlock the hooks for May to use.
At the next part, you will see an accordion. The accordion will attack every few seconds. Cody has to use the shield all the way there. May has to stand behind Cody to prevent getting killed.
Repeat the strategy until you walk pass the accordion.
You will then see some trumpets. May has to scream into the trumpet to unlock the platforms but they’ll go back down after some time.
Cody has to do the jumping here. Time the blowing of the trumpet according to Cody’s jumps.
At the other side, Cody will pull the lever so that May can cross over the platforms.
Now, both Cody and May has to go to the opposite ends of the sheet rail to unlock the cutscene.
You will now see a heaven-like area with musical notes floating around.
To unlock each door, you need to get all the musical notes floating around. You’ll also be able to fly here.
There’s also a Volleyball minigame here where the person who scores the most first wins.
We went to the left-side door first. Here, you need to attack the flying creatures and snatch the key from them.
There are two keys in total and they can snatch it back from you.
Once you have the key, rush towards the padlock to unlock it.
With two keys, you will free the orchestra members.
At the right-side area, you will see clouds instead.
Cody can attack the clouds to make them rain. May can only push the clouds around so that the rainwater is spread around to clear the fog.
The aim is to use the water to blow the fog away near the two bunkers.
Use the lever to open the bunker and some enemies will fly out. One of them has the key. Snatch the key from them and open the lock.
Repeat the same thing for the other bunker and key.
Once you’re done, return to the orchestra members and you’ll be teleported back to the stage.
Minigame: Track Runner
Once you’re back to the stage, you will unlock a neon lights room.
There’s a Track Runner minigame here. Whoever reaches the end first wins.
When you’re ready, follow the red carpet and you’ll reach the club. Talk to the bouncer.
Dr. Hakim will get you two through.
The next part requires mostly jumping skills and timing.
You will reach a blockage in the tracks. Use the hook to jump to the other side and May can scream open the hatch. As the platforms are moving, you have to time the jump.
You will then reach a disco ball. Jump and ground pound the ball to break the chain.
The next part is more difficult. You have to stay on the disco ball while it moves down the rails.
Also, avoid the holes as they can damage you.
At least one player has to be alive at all times or you’ll need to restart this part.
Once you’re done, you will reach the DJ section of the club.
Here, just follow the prompts on the screen.
Once you’ve hyped up the audience, Dr. Hakim will abduct them all.
Now, slide your way back to the stage and avoid the obstacles.
After reaching the stage, your work has ended and all you have to do is to prepare for the performance.
You’ll have to do a bit of walking as Cody and May, mostly just to chill, take it all in and enjoy the end.
The chapter and game ends after all of the cutscenes.
