Rose’s Room is chapter 3 of It Takes Two and it’s a pretty lengthy one.
Your task is to defeat the Moon Baboon to get to Rose, and later try to get her attention by getting rid of the elephant toy.

Rose’s Room Walkthrough & Guide
Minigame: Tank Brothers
The first thing you’ll come across is a minigame called Tank Brothers. You basically play as tanks and the person who loses 3 health first will lose.
After you’re done with the minigame, just follow the cable all the way to reach the next destination.
On the way, you may also find a hidden room with characters from the developer’s other game – A Way Out.
Next, you’ll reach a TV game. You have to solve the puzzles to unlock the barrier.
For the first one, make sure it spells Override.
Next, connect the lines to form a single line.
In the third puzzle, arrange according to height.
For the fourth one, make a smile using the lines.
Next, to open the door, May has to use the special gravity walkway.
Go upside down and pull on the fire door. Cody can then go through the gap. If it’s too small, shrink Cody.
Next, head to the big red button. Cody has to make himself big and ground pound the button.
You will then be able to get to the robot. This mechanics will be featured many times in this chapter.
Cody has to shrink himself to enter the back of the robot and push the battery in. Once the battery is in, May has to activate the switch.
Now, jump all the way to the top using the anti-gravity field.
You will then see three different portals. We chose the one with the teacups first (green portal).
In this portal, May has to go upside down while Cody goes to the right direction.
You will reach a part with lasers. Just jump as usual. May will be jumping upside down.
You will then reach an area with springs. May has to push the springs to form steps for Cody.
Cody has to ground pound the right-most spring.
May can then crouch through the small gap. Cody has to shrink to go through the gap.
You will now reach a see-saw. May and Cody have to ground pound the see-saw to switch positions.
At the giant wheel, Cody has to turn it. May has to stand on the platform connected to the wheel.
When Cody releases, May has to jump to the right side without getting hit by the laser.
In the next part, Cody has to shrink again while May moves upside down.
You will then come across a hook section. Cody has to hold the hook while May grapples onto it.
Cody then needs to drag May along.
For the next grappling hook, both May and Cody have to hold on together.
You will finally reach the robot again. Cody does the battery while May switches it on.
This portal is done and you can return.
The next portal we used was the red one.
Here, you need to use the rail and jump onto the planets to get to the next rail.
Once you’re at the middle platform, you will see two planets dangling by ropes. One is above the moon, and the other is at the bottom.
May has to jump onto the planet at the bottom. Cody turns big and swings the planet towards the other planet above the moon.
May jumps onto the planet above the moon.
Cody then has to swing the planet towards the nearby cupboard. May has to jump onto the platform.
Then, May needs to use the gravity path.
Here, you’ll see red buttons. May has to ground pound the buttons in the correct order. Cody has to wait at the cupboard to see which one comes out.
Cody basically needs to jump diagonally, which means May has to ground pound diagonally. Repeat the process until Cody is at the top of the cupboard.
As usual, do the robot battery thing.
Alien portal (purple)
The last portal in this level is the one with the alien.
Here, you need to use the glass orb to get to the other side. At the other side, May has to jump onto the next glass orb using the trampoline.
Cody has to push the orb to the next section. May then needs to jump to the button to open the door.
Once the door is open, continue to jump onto the orb as Cody pushes to the end. May now has to use the gravity path.
Move the cube in a way that allows Cody to climb on.
Then, move the cube towards the red toolbox. You can see Cody’s screen to know if you’re doing it right.
The portal here is done.
Once all three are done, go to the wheel and spin it. Both wheels have to be spun until the stars are all lit.
You can now go up to the next level.
Rubik’s cube portal
Here, you will see three more portals. We chose the Rubik’s cube portal first.
The aim here is to collect all of the conductors shaped like a lightning.
One of them requires jumping skills. Just jump to the other side via the rubik’s cube and take the conductor. Return to the middle.
Another is a roller coaster. Use the rail and go all the way. At the end, you need to jump and use the grappling hook to reach the conductor.
The third one requires Cody’s shrinking skills.
For the fourth one, May has to use the yellow path.
As May is upside down, she’ll be able to get the conductor but it’s inside a cage.
Cody has to ground pound the red button to open the cage momentarily.
Enter the cage and take the conductor. Ground pound the button again for May to escape.
For the fifth and six, they are behind the red robot. We went to the left side first.
May has to stand at the other side of the see-saw as Cody shrinks and enter the small hole to reach the conductor.
For the last one (right side), Cody has to become a giant and use the other side of the see-saw while May gets the conductor at the top.
Once you have all of the conductors, place them in a line to allow electricity to flow. Now, you can switch on the robot.
The next portal we did was the umbrella portal.
Here, Cody has to shrink and enter the ball. May has to lower the barrier and aim properly.
Once you fire the ball, Cody has to control the ball.
May has to control the barriers by lowering them as Cody approaches. Look at Cody’s screen to time the lowering of barriers.
Once the ball hits the hole, the door will open.
May has to use the left-side yellow path while Cody goes to the right.
Cody has to use the umbrella’s beam to move May from one path to the next path.
May has to follow the yellow path all the way and jump up the walls. At the top, step on the blue button.
This will stop the lasers on Cody’s side. Cody has to wall-climb to the top as well.
You can now switch on the red robot.
Next, we head to the last portal which is surrounded by cushions.
Use the trampolines to get to the middle platform.
Here, Cody has to stand on the lower end of the see-saw while May ground pounds the other end. Cody will then get up to the spring.
Cody has to become big to let the spring come down, which allows May to go up together with Cody.
Head to the next area. May has to use the yellow path while Cody shrinks and enters the small door.
Here, you have to use the grappling hook. The one nearer to the grappling hook will start first to allow the other partner to use the hook as well.
Keep doing the same thing until you reach the end.
Like before, activate the red robot.
Once all three portals are done, spin the wheels on both sides and jump to the top of the tower using the anti-gravity.
You will then reach another puzzle. If you ground pound the button, it will change the direction of all the glowing pipes.
You have to change the direction of the pipe at the left-side until it matches. Then, someone has to stand on the button above that particular pipe, to stop it from moving anymore.
Continue to change the direction of the right-side glowing pipe until it matches.
Once the pipes are correct, jump on the button at the right to start the current. However, it will fail and Cody has to fix it first.
Cody has to shrink and push the battery inside. May has to use the button again to activate the current, and it will work this time.
Boss Fight: Defeat the Moon Baboon
You will now get your first boss fight in this chapter.
The Moon Baboon will basically target one player at a time. For the player being targeted, keep running first.
The other player has to find the glowing blue button. Stand on the button and you will go up the platform.
The player being targeted has to hide behind the platform. The baboon will then shoot the laser at the orb inside the platform, causing himself damage.
For the last platform which is much higher, May will be targeted and has to use the gravity path so that the baboon aims higher. This is because the orb is much higher this time.
Once the baboon is left with 2/3 of health, Cody has to transform into the big version and grab the ship.
May has to go under and destroy the laser shooter.
Next, the baboon will use rocket launchers.
Just dodge the rocket until it stops. When the rocket is on the ground, sit on it.
Your job is to control the rocket and collide with the baboon’s ship.
At the last 1/3 of his health, May has to keep dodging multiple moving lasers.
Cody will be inside the ship and has to go through obstacles while May tries to not die. Once Cody reaches the end of the obstacles, he will be able to push the ‘eject’ button.
After the baboon is ejected, you have to control the ship. May controls the ship’s movement while Cody controls the blaster. Defeat the baboon using the blaster.
You will now reach a new section of the chapter titled Hopscotch.
You may notice a toy car here. One person has to sit in it, while the other pulls the car back like a spring and releases it.
If you go through the hoop, you get an achievement.
There’s also a rodeo minigame here. Whoever falls first loses.
Back to Hopscotch
Now, head to the hopscotch area. One person stands on “8” while the other jumps across.
The other player stands on “5” while the first player goes past the “5” blocks.
In the next part, you have to coordinate with your partner. When the person jumps on the yellow button, the yellow wall will become horizontal.
Similarly, you have to time the jump from the yellow to the green wall.
At the next area, stand on the “4” cube and the other player will get to jump across the cubes.
The other player then stands on the “6” to create a pathway for the stranded player to come across.
You will then reach an area filled with cubes. Just time your jumps properly to the other end.
You will now reach another teamwork part. One player has to stand on the pig so that the railing is open. The other player uses the railing.
While the other player is on the rails, you have to stand on the correct animal to unblock the path. For e.g. there’ll be a mouse cube blocking the way. You have to stand on the mouse cube to unblock it.
Repeat this process all the way.
Once that player has reached the other end, he has to stand on the correct animals while you now have to use the rails.
For the second player on the rails, you can actually jump from one rail to another if you can’t find the right animal on your path.
Next, stand on the cow button to allow the other player to come in.
Minigame: Feed the Reptile
You will see a minigame here named Feed the Reptile. You basically have to throw balls inside the mouths of those animals.
The harder ones will fetch more points and the one with the most points at the end of the timer wins.
Back to Hopscotch
Now, use the “star” platforms to jump all the way to the top.
Get onto the hanger to reach the other side.
You will now see a wave of tests.
The first test is to get the correct answer on the blackboard. For example, if the answer is 17, one player stands on 8 and the other stands on 9.
You need to complete all the answers before the timer is up.
The second one is a memory game where you have to pair fruits together. You can either do it together or one person does it himself.
For the third test, you need to control a pencil and connect the dots. May has to do the right-left movement while Cody does the up-down movement.
Work together to connect the dots from 1 to 27.
You will now reach another room where you see a mouse and a cheese ball.
Head to the puzzle at the end of the room and you’ll see the ball.
You basically have to navigate the ball to the goal. The navigation is done by tilting the board using your character.
Once you’re done, head to the board closer to the mouse and do the same thing. You need to reach the goal.
Once you’re done, ground pound the button and the mouse will chase after the ball. The mouse will pull the door open.
In the next area, you have to jump on the numbered cubes and the timing has to be right or you’ll fall.
You will then reach a part with two levers. Both players have to pull the levers so that the platforms stretch out. Quickly run towards the end.
Each player has to use their own walls. You basically need to use two walls (either green wall + wooden wall or yellow wall + wooden wall) to jump and bounce all the way up, before the yellow or green wall gets pulled back.
You will come across a place with a “pull my finger” on the blackboard.
One player stands on the bag while the other ground pounds the button. The first player will fly up and you’ll need to use the hook to grapple. As long as the player is pulling the finger, the hook at the smiley face toy will be close to you.
This next part requires good timing. The one on the hook has to jump to the next air bag near the smiley face hook.
Immediately, the ground-pound player has to ground pound the other button. The one on the hook will then be able to jump and grapple onto the next hook.
You will then see two more buttons at the other side. You now have to pound the button while the stranded player does the same hook moves.
After both players are done, you will reach another room with more hooks. Use the hooks to get to the other side.
You will now come across more toys.
The trick in this part is to turn off the toy balls. Just spin the wheel to do so.
There should be different wheels for different colors.
Minigame: Batting Team
You will now discover a batting team minigame. Whoever hits the ball the most times win.
Continue to the next area and you’ll see a chest. Open the chest together and you’ll get fidget spinners.
You’ll now be able to glide using the spinners. The objective here is to stop the balls from coming down.
There are three different wheels to turn here to stop all the balls from coming down.
Once the balls are gone, continue to the next area.
Go all the way and you’ll even enter a watermelon slide section.
You will now reach the kaleidoscope area of the room.
Here, just jump to the end using the moving cubes.
To proceed further, you need to make a bridge. Cody and May has to join the orange patterns on the ground to form a straight line. The bridge will then be made.
In the next area, do the same thing. You should see a line formed by yellow patterns with two parts missing. Cody and May has to stand on the missing parts.
Like before, close the gaps in the line.
This next part is slightly harder. One player should stand on the green stairs while the other player pushes the pink pillar in the middle. Rotate until the player on the staircase can climb onto the pink platform.
From the pink platform, push the pillar so that the one on the green staircase can climb to the blue pillar.
Now, rotate the blue pillar so that the player on the pink platform can climb on the yellow platform.
Now, rotate the yellow pillar so that the player below can climb onto the blue platform and eventually the yellow platform.
Now, both players can reach the top. Move the object at the top to leave the kaleidoscope.
The next part is the train station. Your task is to fit the correct characters onto the train tracks.
Before you can do so, you need to find all the toy models in the image below.
Once they all fit into place, put the train conductor into the small hut.
You can now use the cart to get to the next area.
This part is just a rollercoaster until you reach the next part.
You will now reach Dino Land. One player has to use the green dinosaur. Use the green dinosaur to pull down the platform where the red dinosaur is.
The other player sits on the red dinosaur.
The one on the red dinosaur can slam the tail on the red platform to change the blocks. Before doing so, the green dinosaur has to lift up the stone block.
Then, slam the tail to open a path.
In the next part, the green dino has to drag the stone block to the left first. Slam the tail to remove the obstacle.
Stand on that particular stone block and the dino can drag you to the other side.
For the next part, slam the tail to allow the dino to hold the platform.
Slam it again to remove the obstacle. Green dino now has to pull you up.
For the next part, the red dino is gone. Pull up the platform to avoid the spikes. Jump onto the platform.
The green dino now has to pull the platform to block the bottom spikes.
Now, the green dino has to pull down the green sticky wall. You have to latch onto the sticky wall on the right side.
Pull up the green wall so that the player can jump to the left side.
You can now pull down the red ball while the green dino adjusts the location.
The next area is the pirate ship area. You need a lot of coordination for this one.
For the left player, if you move backwards, it goes towards the left. It’s the opposite for the right-side player.
Just keep going according to the path and eliminate the threats along the way using the cannon balls.
Boss Fight: Giant Octopus
There’ll be a Giant Octopus boss fight. Just shoot his face to lower his health.
When it reaches half health, a whirlpool will appear. Steer the ship sideways to shoot the ducky with bombs.
Do it slowly or you may lose control.
When the tentacles start coming up, shoot the tentacles to bring it down. Each tentacle has a health bar.
The next part is a circus. One player ground pound the button while the other has to move the platform to allow the ball to go to the next railing.
Next, one player has to move the hamster wheel to allow the ball to enter the red grabber. The other ground pounds the button.
The one who used the button has to get to the next hamster wheel to receive the ball and move it to the next part.
Ground pound the next red button.
This part requires you to shoot and burst the balloons. One player enters the cannon and aims it. The other fires the cannon.
You have to hit all three balloons. For the target behind the fence, you have to steer yourself towards the right in mid-air.
Next, use the ferris wheel to cross over.
You will then see a unicycle. Cody has to do the cycling while May balances the ball above.
Just do it slowly and you won’t fall.
At the next part, May has to tilt the ball sidewards.
Then, ground pound the red button.
This next part requires precision. One player has to hold the ball while the other wait at the other side.
Time it perfectly to pass the ball mid-air. The second player now has to throw the ball into the hole.
Continue to jump over the balloons to reach the next side.
Finally, pull back the sling shot to destroy the big balloon.
You will now come across a minigame called Birdstar.
At the castle area, you have to open the gate. One player has to lower the bowling ball while the other adjust the positioning.
Now both players have to jump onto the bowling ball and swing together to break open the gate.
After the cutscene, May will get a flaming sword while Cody gets magic powers (ice). May can also dash through small open spaces while Cody can teleport through gates. Use this knowledge to solve puzzles and get to the next area.
Cody can also freeze flames that come up from holes.
At one part, you’ll come across a girl with a mincer. Destroy the wooden door and continue to escape all the way. At the dead end, destroy all the towers to stop the girl.
You will then come across an “immortal beast”. To defeat him, you need to break all four chains.
Stand near the chain and let it rush towards you. Dodge away and let him break the chain. Do that for all four.
Once the grill is gone, bait him to fall into the fire.
He will try to hang on but you can attack his hands.
You will then come across a chess battle. Defeat the King and Queen.
They can summon pawns, castles, knights and so on. However, they attack following their chess moves, so you can dodge them.
Kill the elephant
The last part is the cruelest part so far. You need to kill a cute elephant.
She will escape and gets trapped in a claw machine. Use the claw to grab her by anticipating her path.
Then, pull her out the machine and you’ll remove one of her legs.
Continue to drag her to the ledge as she’ll try to stop you. The chapter ends after she falls.
