Song of the Dragon and Freedom is Act 3 of the Prologue in Genshin Impact.
Your task is to finally go to Stormterror’s Lair and confront Stormterror.
Here’s a walkthrough of Song of the Dragon and Freedom in Genshin Impact.
This walkthrough will be divided into all the sub-quests.
The first sub-quest is titled Abyss Mage.
Meet Diluc and the rest at the Dawn Winery, south of Mondstadt.
Next, head west to the marked area on the map.
Here, you will see some enemies. Defeat them first.
The next sub-quest is Hurdle. Now, you need to get to Stormterror’s Lair.
From the assailants earlier, you just need to go through this arch entrance (image below).
Along the way, there will be some hilichurls and other enemies waiting.
Go all the way in until you reach the storm barrier.
After the cutscene, some enemies will spawn.
Defeat them first. Venti will then open a path through the barrier.
The next sub-quest is Empty Abode.
The aim now is to go to the tower with three halos surrounding it.
Go all the way in using the bridge and a cutscene will trigger. Ignore the monsters below the bridge.
After the cutscene, find a way up the tower. Just go around the tower, past the hilichurls.
You will then reach this bridge with thorns. Proceed ahead.
Keep going until you see the Statue of The Sevens. Activate the statue first.
Next, use the wind current to fly up and go into the tower, through the barrier.
Inside the tower, you still need to go all the way up.
At the top, activate the waypoint first.
Light Guiding Ceremony
The next job is to break all the light seals.
First of all, get to the light crystal. It will automatically string itself to you.
Go to the monument and the crystal will do its job. The seal will be broken.
Talk to Venti once you’re done.
The next mission is to break all three light seals using the light monuments located around the tower, as shown in the map.
In each of the areas, there’s also a waypoint you may want to activate.
Basically, in each area, you have to find three light crystals. They emit a golden energy so you won’t miss them.
In the first area I went to, one of the light crystals was near the seal.
The other two light crystals were high on top the structure. I had to use the wind current to go all the way up.
After picking three of the light crystals, go to the monument and one seal will be broken.
In the second area I went to, the three light crystals are all visibly surrounding the monument.
The only catch was to defeat the monsters that spawn. There seems to be a time limit as well.
In the third area, the monument stands alone.
The light crystals are further away. One is located at the enemy site. You have to defeat the enemies to get the light crystal.
The second one is protected by a wind barrier.
Climb the structure beside the barrier. From the top, jump inside the barrier and collect the light crystal.
As for the third, the light crystal is hidden in the rocks.
Some enemies will spawn but you can ignore them.
Go to the monument and break the last seal.
Calm Before the Storm
The next sub-quest is just conversational.
Return to Venti and the rest at the tower. Here, you just have to be prepared for the battle later.
A Long Shot
This sub-quest is where you finally confront Stormterror. The recommended team level is 26 and above.
When you’re ready, confront Stormterror. Inside, you get to use Venti so you have five characters in total. Ranged characters may work better for this quest.
Air battle (stage 1)
You will start off in a flying battle. The aim is to attack the purple crystal on Stormterror’s back.
At the start, just keep shooting at the crystal to reduce his HP.
After some time, Stormterror Dvalin will distance himself and shoot energy balls at you.
Try to avoid them. You can however heal mid-fight.
To catch up to Dvalin, you need to shoot at the green orbs that form randomly in the sky. They will become green rings.
Go through each ring to get closer to Dvalin. It should take about five rings to reach Dvalin’s back again.
Once you’re close, attack the purple crystal again. He will distance himself again and you just have to repeat the process until the crystal breaks (meaning HP goes to zero).
Ground battle (stage 2)
In the next battle, you will be on the platform. Dvalin is mostly flying so you can just use Venti to attack him.
After some time, Dvalin will mark the platform with some energy where it lowers your health. A wind current will form at the side. You can use it to avoid certain attacks.
However, Dvalin also uses a wind-breath attack. The wind current won’t help you to avoid the attack. You’ll need to run towards the other side if he uses the wind-breath.
After breaking his shield, Dvalin will fall down. That’s when you attack the purple crystal on his back, but there isn’t much time.
Once he recovers, you have to repeat the process and bring him down again. The fight ends after you destroy the crystal.
There’ll be a cutscene where Dvalin who is no longer corrupted rescues the group from falling down.
When the Wind Dies Down
After defeating Dvalin, the next sub-quest is mainly conversational.
First of all, help Amber destroy the hilichurl barricades outside of Mondstadt.
Then, speak to Otto nearby.
The next person to talk to is Cyrus, and he’s standing near the blacksmith.
Talk to Nimrod next.
The nun Grace will also be nearby. Speak with her.
Next, go to Good Hunter to meet Sara. You will find Kaeya here as well.
After the cutscene, sit down with Amber at the Good Hunter for a meal.
Once you’re done, go to the cathedral in Mondstadt to meet Jean and Venti.
You will then get a cutscene where Venti and your character are attacked by La Signora, one of the harbingers.
She steals a Gnosis from Venti, which will be explained in the game later.
Finally, meet Venti at Windrise.
Fast travel to the Statue of The Seven in Windrise.
Venti will be at the giant tree. You can ask him more questions before the quest ends.
The series of quests ends after speaking to Venti. Your next job will start at Adventure Rank 23.
