Inversion of Genesis is an Archon quest that is introduced in update 3.3 of Genshin Impact.
Your objective is to look for more information about the Traveler’s sibling by visiting Nahida at the Sanctuary of Surasthana.
Here’s a walkthrough and guide of Inversion of Genesis in Genshin Impact.
This walkthrough is divided into various sub-quests.
The Night-Bird Falls at the Curtain’s Call
The first sub quest in this Archon quest is The Night-Bird Falls at the Curtain’s Call.
Use the waypoint near the Sanctuary of Surasthana and you’ll trigger a cutscene upon arrival.
Then, talk to the scholars by the road.
After the conversation, you’ll see The Balladeer walking away. Head to the sanctuary.
After meeting Nahida and discussing the plans to enter Irminsul, follow The Balladeer.
Continue to follow him inside the maze.
When The Balladeer finally reaches Irminsul, he gets data on what happened in the past. Turns out, The Doctor was the one who pretended to be someone else and murdered Niwa.
After the whole throwback, wait for The Balladeer to gather his thoughts before another cutscene.
He will then attempt to erase history.
A Dance of Destruction
We now move to the second sub-quest.
First of all, go to Inazuma to talk to the blacksmith to check if history has been changed.
Next, visit the Yashiro Commission.
You’ll then need to travel to Tatarasuna. You’ll meet Xavier there.
The Kabukimono’s Finale
You’ll now begin the third sub-quest The Kabukimono’s Finale.
Go back to the Sanctuary of Surasthana. You’ll meet the two scholars again.
They’ll give their notes to you and you can see differences after The Balladeer changes history. They are highlighted in yellow.
Then, head into the sanctuary to find Nahida.
After the conversation, go to the Grand Bazaar to trigger another cutscene.
You’ll see The Balladeer again but he won’t have memories of his past.
Follow The Balladeer out of the city. Just use the waypoint as marked on the map.
You’ll then see him picking Sunsettias.
Return to the Grand Bazaar and head to the grocery stall.
After meeting with The Balladeer, return to the Sanctuary of Surasthana to meet Nahida.
You’ll then need to enter the memory for The Balladeer to remember his past.
It’s basically a dungeon. Jump down to the lower floor.
Keep making your way ahead.
You’ll be required to access a few different memories by finding the green “portals”.
At one point, you’ll need to defeat some Fatui as part of the story.
You’ll also see Signora’s past conversation with The Balladeer.
Continue to defeat the opponents in the area.
At the end, Nahida will return his memories to him.
You will then need to use The Balladeer (Wanderer) to defeat the Everlasting Lord of Arcane Wisdom.
The fight is quite straightforward. He now uses Anemo instead of Electro.
You can avoid most of the boss’ attack by using the E skill which allows you to float upwards and attack manually.
After the fight, you’ll be given a chance to change the Wanderer’s name.
You can set any name that’s allowed by the terms and conditions.
As Though Morning Dew
The fourth sub-quest is As Though Morning Dew.
Head back to the resting place where the Traveler and Paimon is frequently seen in during cutscenes. The location is provided in the map.
During the cutscene, you’ll hear someone talking to them. It’s probably related to the next region where the Traveler and Paimon will head to.
The quest ends here.
You’re also given An Appellative Stroke which allows you to change a person’s name, but it seems to not be reversible once you do it.
