Gilded Butterflies is a main story quest in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Your objective is to find out who the Treasurer is and assassinate her.
Here’s a walkthrough and guide of Gilded Butterflies in AC Mirage.
Look for intel in the Bazaar
You will first need to find intel in the Bazaar. You’ll see Kong early on and you can ask him for help.
Get Kong’s item from Luca
To get intel from Kong, you need to help him get an item from Luca.
Head to the marked location on the map.
You’ll see a shelf. Move it towards the other end.
You can use the shelf to climb up to the top.
At the top, carry an explosive and throw it towards the breakable wall below.
Now that the wall has broken, move the shelf outside and push the shelf near an upper platform. You can use it to climb to the top.
You will now see the plate that Kong has asked you to take from Luca. Unbar the door and leave.
Return the plate to Kong for information.
Visit the foreign merchant’s stall
You will next need to go towards the foreign merchant’s stall and inspect his goods including the hairpin that the Treasurer wants.
Eavesdrop on the mysterious woman’s conversation
From the foreign merchant’s location, use eagle vision and you’ll see two women on the same floor but further away.
Go towards them. Sit on the bench and eavesdrop on their conversation.
Follow the mysterious woman
Next, follow the woman named Qabiha.
Once they’re inside the room, eavesdrop on the conversation.
Speak to the woman
Once the other woman leaves, speak to Qabiha.
Attend the Great Auction
Finally, attend the Great Auction.
During the auction, you can bid for the hairpin if you have the money. It costs 150 Dirhams.
I chose not to bid which probably made it slightly harder for the quest.
Steal the hairpin from the merchant in the black robe
As I didn’t bid for it, I have to steal the hairpin.
The merchant is just at the top floor at the auction. Climb up and steal the hairpin on the small table when the merchant walks away.
With the hairpin alone, perhaps you can try to get into the Treasurer’s place by talking to the guard. If it doesn’t work, you may need the Ivory Coin’s brooch as well.
Find out where to obtain the Ivory Coin’s brooch
To get the Ivory Coin’s brooch, talk to the spice merchant first.
She’ll ask for a token or coin to bribe.
Then, go to the Guild.
You’ll see a guard talking to a man. Once the guard leaves, you can sneak into the Guild.
Assassinate guards along the way. You can use the booth to lure them and kill them one by one.
Get the Ivory Coin’s brooch from the table.
Assassinate Ning, the Treasurer
Now, head to Ning’s location. Talk to the guard and he’ll let you in.
Follow the servant inside.
Wait for the Treasurer to be ready first. Then, present the hairpin to her.
During the cutscene, you can assassinate her. The quest ends here.
