The Hungry River is a side quest in Assassin’s Creed Origins in Kanopos Nome.
You have to help bring some dead bodies back to the cart, as there are wild hippos around.

Summary of The Hungry River

Talk to the farmer
To begin the quest, talk to the farmer at the location shown below. It’s in Kanopos Nome.
Talk to this man in the image below.
Bring the dead back to the cart
The guy will tell you that there are plenty of hippos around and are dangerous. You need to help them bring the dead bodies back to the cart.
There will be four dead bodies, as shown below.
Carry the bodies one by one and bring them to the cart.
Beside the cart, put the body down.
You will encounter about three hippos in total around the bodies.
It’s easier if you kill them first.
Once the area is clear, continue getting the other bodies.
Speak to the farmer
After finishing the job, talk to the farmer. He’ll tell you about Meketre who went missing. He is like the warrior of this village.
Find and rescue Meketre
Meketre was taken by the bandits. You can find him in the location shown below.
As you get close, use Senu to pinpoint his exact location. You will find him caged in Potamos Hideout.
Kill all of the bandits first. You can take high ground and kill them with your arrows.
Once the area is clear, free Meketre.
Defend Meketre
He will then run away. Escort him out.
Speak to Meketre
He will stop running once he’s near the horse. Talk to him.
He will tell you about his village being attacked by the bandits.
Kill all bandits at Meketre’s village
Now, get to his village at the location shown in the map below.
There’ll be plenty of bandits here. Get rid of all of them.
Once the bandits are dead, speak to Meketre again.
You can find him inside the village itself.
The quest completes here.
Reward: 1,500 XP
