Each map in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 has a Gap checklist for you to fulfill.
Completing every Gap in the game will give you a Trophy (for Playstation).
In NY City, there are about 43 Gaps in total.
Here’s how you can do all of the Gaps in NY City in THPS 1 + 2.
All Gaps In NY City
Awning Air – 100 Points
From the start point, turn right and descend down the ramp to reach Joey’s Place. You need to jump over the red awning, using one quarter pipe and landing on the other.
Big Air Out Of The Banks – 250 Points
From the start point, go straight all the way and use the pipe to reach the banks area.
Once you’ve crossed over, you will see a ramp. Use the ramp to jump over the wall, back to the main road.
Kick It – 50 Points
From the start point, go straight and you’ll see two Caution ramps. Jump from one ramp and land on the other.
Over The Banks Barrier – 100 Points
Inside the banks area, you will see this barrier. You simply need to jump over the barrier. You can also Wallride and jump over.
Over The Road – 250 Points
In the banks area, you should see this elevated road that leads to the secret tape.
Beside the road, there’s a rail you can grind on. You need to grind on the rail and then jump over the road.
Pillar Air – 500 Points
In the banks area, there are a few pillars at the end which you can use to leap in the air.
You need to transfer (jump) from one pillar to the next.
Pouncer Was Here – 250 Points
From the start point, turn left to reach the fountain area. Look for the largest quarter pipe.
You just need to jump up in the air using the quarter pipe.
Pigeon Puddin’ Gap – 100 Points
In the fountain area as well, you need to use the fountain’s outer ramp to jump and reach the middle of the fountain.
Ramp To Park Gap – 100 Points
There’s a ramp above the fountain area, at the main road.
Use the ramp to jump and reach the fountain area. You don’t have to land inside the fountain.
Ramp To Statue Shorty Gap – 250 Points
Similar to above, but this time, you need to use the ramp and land inside the fountain.
Rock It Air – 50 Points
Left of your start point, you should see a rock that works like a ramp.
Just jump off the rock.
Take It To The Bridge – 150 Points
From the start point, go straight and enter the banks area via the pipe. After entering the banks area, look towards the right. There’s a quarter pipe behind the elevated road / bridge.
Use the quarter pipe to gain speed, and then Wallride on the wall which says “ROYER”, and jump over the elevated road.
Across The Pit – 100 Points
From the start point, go to the Upper Bank building. Head towards the left side of the building where you see a quarter pipe (image below). You need to Wallride and grind on the wooden platform above Joey’s Place red awning.
Banks Fence Gap – 100 Points
Go to the banks area. Towards the end, you will see some pillars. Use the slope in between the pillars to jump up and grind on the fence. If you go over the fence, you will respawn.
Banks Road Gap – 100 Points
From the entrance of the banks area, go towards the left. Look for the first rail on the left side. Grind on it, jump over the road and grind on the next rail.
Banks Spank – 100 Points
In the banks area, there’s a basketball court.
Grind on the rail beside the basketball court, jump and grind on the next rail after the court. (image below).
Bench-Hoppin – 100 Points
Look for the benches in the banks area. You need to grind on one bench, jump and grind on the next bench.
Buuurp! Now Go Skate – 100 Points
From the start point, go all the way straight, turn left and reach the end of the road. Beside the ramp, there’s a park entrance.
You should see some benches beside the rail. Grind on the benches first and then jump, and grind the rail.
Changin Trains – 1,000 Points
Grind on any of the train tracks, and then jump and grind on the other train track.
Corner Cut – 100 Points
From the start point, go straight and turn left at the junction. You will reach a ramp at the end of the road.
Use the ramp to jump and land on the park’s walkway.
Grab A Snack And Sit Down – 100 Points
From the start point, go left following the rail beside the lake. You will reach a long table. Grind on the table first, jump off and grind on the benches beside.
Jamie’s Steps – 100 Points
Go to the banks area. Near the pillar area, there’s a set of stairs. Above the set of stairs, there’s a rail as well.
Grind on the rail above, jump and grind on the stair’s handrails.
Joey’s Sculpture – 100 Points
From the start point, turn right and you’ll see Joey’s Place.
Grind on the middle sculpture from top to bottom.
Left Side Pit Rail Stomp – 100 Points
On the left side of Joey’s Place, there are two rails going down the slope. You need to grind on the left rail, but you have to do it from above.
From the start point, go to the left side of Joey’s building (which is around the same level as the road).
From the top, jump down and grind on the left rail.
Park Entrance Gap – 100 Points
From the start point, grind on the ledge beside you on the left, jump and grind on the next ledge.
Parking Meter Gap – 100 Points
Head to the left side of Joey’s building (beside the downward slope).
Turn around and grind on the left rail.
From the rail, jump up and grind on the parking meter.
The parking meter is so tiny you may miss it.
Path Less Traveled – 500 Points
From the start point, go straight and turn left at the junction. Go until you reach the park entrance beside the ramp. Grind on the left rail first, jump over and grind on the benches.
Re-Rebar – 50 Points
Go back to the banks area. Use the elevated road to grind on the rail and then jump to the left to grind on the next rail. It’s the same way you get the secret tape.
Rebar To Rail Gap – 100 Points
Same as above, but at the end of the last rail, you need to jump down and grind on the rail below.
Ride The Rails – 100 Points
Grind on the train track all the way until you register the Gap.
Right Side Pit Rail Stomp – 100 Points
Similar to the left side Gap, you go to the right side of Joey’s building instead.
From the top, jump down and grind on the rail below.
Sidewalk Bomb – 1,000 Points
Go up the travelator to reach the train tracks. Grind on the left ledge, jump off and grind on the green awning below.
Slam Dunk – 500 Points
Head back to the banks area. Go to the basketball court. Wallride and then jump and grind on the basketball hoop.
The Easy Way – 100 Points
From the start point, go right and head towards the dead end. Make a U-turn.
Grind on the rail below the green awning from the dead end, heading towards the start point.
The Hard Way – 500 Points
From the start point, grind on the rail below the green awning until you register the Gap.
It’s hard because you need to stop in time, before you reach the dead end.
You’re Next In Line – 100 Points
From the start point, go left and grind on the rail beside the lake. Jump off and grind on the table.
Going Down? – 250 Points
Go up the subway travelator. From the top, do a manual down the travelator.
The Bridge – 250 Points
Go to the park’s bridge. Do a manual the entire length of the bridge.
Phat Lip – 100 Points
Go to the fountain area. Do a liptrick at the top of the large quarter pipe.
Waaaay Up There – 100 Points
From the start, turn right and go down into Joey’s Place.
Use the quarter pipe to reach the wooden platform above and do a liptrick.
Banks Barrier Wallride – 100 Points
At the banks area, you will see this barrier. Just do a Wallride over the barrier without jumping again.
One Side – 100 Points
Go up the subway travelator. From the top, grind on any side of the travelator’s rail, jump over to the other side and continue grinding.
Downhill Jam – 250 Points
From the start, go to Joey’s Place on the right. You need to do a manual all the way down the slope.
