What Lies Ahead is the last quest in Act 6: Dance of the Makers in Diablo 4.
Your objective is to defeat Lilith at Mephisto’s domain.

Speak to Neyrelle
To begin, talk to Neyrelle.
You’ll discover that Donan has died from his wounds and Lorath will stay behind.
Speak with Neyrelle in the Burning Hells
Before going to Mephisto’s place, speak with Neyrelle first.
Then, use the portal to go to Lilith’s location.
Find Mephisto in the Cathedral of Hatred
You will reach the Cathedral of Hatred’s outskirts after using the fiery portal. Head towards the cathedral.
Speak to Neyrelle in the Cathedral of Hatred
You will then see Mephisto’s body. Speak with Neyrelle.
She will decide to use the soulstone on Mephisto instead of Lilith.
Defeat Lilith
Finally, Lilith will arrive at the place only to see that Mephisto is gone. You will now need to defeat Lilith, the main boss of the game.
This will be the first phase of the fight.
Lilith can summon demons to join the fight. She does a lot of melee attacks and can do map-wide attacks which are avoidable.
After defeating her first phase which is relatively easy, she’ll regain full health for the second phase.
Her appearance also changes a little.
For the second phase, she can use some map-wide attacks and also dive from the sky. She also does melee attacks as usual.
The tricky part about phase 2 is that she cuts off the map little by little, giving you a smaller area to run around.
Don’t get cut-off together with the floor.
After the fight ends, a cutscene will trigger.
Speak to Lorath
She should drop a few legendary items when she dies.
Return to Lorath via the fiery portal.
Talk to him.
Meet Neyrelle in the chapel
Go back to find Neyrelle at the chapel in the desert. The quest ends here.
Act 6 is also completed.
