Descent is a campaign quest under Act 1: A Cold and Iron Faith in Diablo 4.
Your objective is to pursue Lilith after crossing over the Black Lake.

Pursue Lilith
Continue ahead following the path.
You will then see a few visions by Rathma as you explore the area, talking about Inarius and Lilith.
Destroy the Tumors of Hatred
In the next area, there are five Tumors of Hatred for you to destroy.
They’re easily destroyed.
You just need to explore the area to get all five of them.
Slay the final Tumor of Hatred
After you’re done with all five, go to the middle where there’s a final Tumor of Hatred. You’ll also see Inarius talking to Rathma.
Slay Lilith’s Lament
Be prepared for a mini boss fight.
Enter the area and you have to defeat Lilith’s Lament.
During the fight, you’ll be aided by Knight Penitent. When the demon casts the blood spell affecting the entire room, you have to hide inside the barrier of light.
Also, watch out of the waves of blood as they deal a lot of damage.
Speak with the Knight Penitent
After the fight, talk to the Knight Penitent.
Watch the cutscene.
Inspect Lilith’s Blood Petals
Go all the way in and you’ll see Lilith’s Blood Petals. Inspect it to trigger the cutscene.
