Woodland Encounter is one of the early world quests available in Sumeru.
Your objective is to help Nara who is attacked by Fungi and later aid in her mission.
Here’s a walkthrough and guide of Woodland Encounter in Genshin Impact.
This guide is subdivided into various quests under the chapter.
To begin the quest, head to the location shown in the map below, marked by the player location.
You will see a woman named Nara surrounded by fungi. Help defeat the fungi.
The Children of Vimara Village
The first subquest is The Children of Vimara Village.
Follow Rana to her village.
On the way there you’ll see a Withering Zone. As usual, destroy the small red plants first.
Summon electrograna and charge attack the small red plants to destroy them.
Mobs will spawn once you’re done with the small plants. Defeat them first.
Then, go to the tumor of the Withering and destroy it.
Continue your journey to Vimara Village.
Talk to Amadhiah who is her grandpa.
Next, follow the children to Rana’s house.
Talk to all 3 of the children to gather information on mystical creatures.
Leave the village and head to the location marked on the map.
Into the Woods
The next subquest is Into the Woods.
Head to the Withering Zone marked on the map. Clear the area the same way you do all other zones.
You will then need to proceed ahead to clear yet another Withering Zone. This one’s bigger than the previous one.
After you’re done, head to the Spinocrocodiles location. Clear a number of them with Rana. They should be really easy to kill.
After the fight, head to the camp marked on the map.
You will then be tasked with collecting 3 firewood. Look around the yellow circle and you’ll see some spots that you can investigate.
Gather the firewood by investigating.
Head back to Rana. Use a pyro character to start the fire.
You now have to rest / wait until 6 – 8 am. Talk to Rana to rest.
The Lost Child
After the cutscene, we begin the next subquest The Lost Child.
Return to Vimara Village by heading to the designated location on the map.
On the way back, you will meet enemies. Take them out first.
Then, head up and into the cave to look for Iotham who was running away from the bad men.
Inside, you have to defeat two Fatui members.
You will then see Iotham inside a green bubble in the Withering Zone.
Clear the Withering Zone first.
Rana will be sick so you have to go back to Vimara Village to look for Alphonso.
You will then return to the cave after the cutscene. Look for Rana.
She won’t be at her spot anymore.
Next, follow the strange traces which are green.
Go all the way until you reach the target.
The World of Aranara
The next subquest is The World of Aranara.
After meeting the Arana, head back to Vimara Village to talk to Amadhiah. Get the musical instrument from him.
This time, you can summon the waverider nearby. Use the waverider and follow the green energy.
The destination is pretty far and is west of Sumeru City.
You will eventually reach dry land. Continue following the path.
You will eventually reach Vanarana. Enter the place.
Go to the Phantasmal Gate which looks like a small arch.
Play the musical instrument and follow the indicated notes.
Then, you will need to collect 5 Phantasmal Seeds. They are greenish in color and you will see that they are highlighted on your screen.
Just go to them to collect them. Avoid getting hit by mobs or your time will drop.
You can use the blue flowers to hide. Apparently you can use electro on them to find the remaining seeds.
Once you’re done, return to the Phantasmal Gate to complete the trial.
Follow the strange traces back to the portal. The quest ends here.
